A seminar on “The Role of Stress in Students” was held at Setaragan Zirak School to explore the impact of stress on students’ academic and psychological performance. The teacher began by defining stress and explaining the factors that contribute to it in both the school environment and students’ daily lives. The teacher clarified that while stress is a natural response of the body to external pressures, if not managed properly, it can become a significant barrier to learning and personal growth.
The teacher then discussed the negative effects of stress on memory, concentration, and decision-making among students. He also explained that prolonged stress could lead to a decline in academic motivation, lower grades, and even physical and psychological issues such as anxiety and depression. To illustrate these points, real-life examples were provided of situations that cause stress among students, such as exams, family pressures, or academic competition.
In the final section of the seminar, strategies for managing stress and enhancing students’ mental health were suggested. Techniques such as meditation, effective time management, and strengthening social support networks were among the solutions discussed. This seminar served as an important opportunity to raise awareness about the significance of mental health in students and provide tools for coping with stress. At the end, through a Q&A session, both teachers and students engaged in deeper discussions and shared additional practical solutions.
